In fact, in a recent annual meeting of the North American Menopause Society, it was concluded that a change in diet could help reduce menstrual pain.

    What does a healthy diet look like? It includes a combination of at least three servings of whole grains every day, along with lots of fruits and vegetables. This will help keep you feeling full and energized, which will make it easier for you to get through your day without feeling like you’ve been hit by a truck.

    You should also aim for about seven servings of water a day, not just during menstruation but all the time. Water helps flush out toxins from your body, so if you’re not drinking enough water throughout the week, it could be contributing to your period pain.

    A balanced diet can help you feel better overall, but it may also boost your energy levels during your period so you can get through your day without the need for extra rest or pain relief.
